If you’re serious about improving your SEO and attracting more organic traffic, one of the most powerful (and free!) tools at your disposal is Google Search Console (GSC). Yet, many marketers and business owners overlook how useful it can be for keyword optimization.

Step 1: Navigate to the Performance Report

Once logged in, go to:
Performance > Search results

Here you’ll see:

  • Total Clicks

  • Total Impressions

  • Average CTR

  • Average Position

Toggle the “Queries” tab to see all the keywords your site is appearing for.


Step 2: Identify Low-Hanging Keyword Opportunities

Look for keywords where:

  • You rank between positions 8–20 (Page 2 of Google)
